Its really nice going back to Sydney and getting stay in the
same place that we stayed earlier in the trip.
The familiarity with the area is very comforting and I becoming more
aware of how much I love to travel.
Having the opportunity to get to study and travel all over Australia and
New Zealand has been an incredible journey.
On Monday we went for an architectural tour of the Sydney Opera
House. Getting to walk through this
iconic structure was incredible and I have a new appreciation for building what
I call “mega” projects. These are the
projects where you build things that no one else has ever built before on an
unbelievable scale. Seeing the concrete
work in the Opera House made me appreciate the fact that the design, ingenuity,
and craftsmanship were way ahead of their time.

After the tour we spent a few hours walking around Sydney
and we made it to the area of town that has all of the outdoors stores,
including a Patagonia store. Seeing as
how I am a gear freak I found myself wanting pretty much everything in every
store that we walked in to. I guess its
OK to dream big sometimes. We ended the
night with an average dinner consisting of a special $10 steak in the
city.
Excellent recap of the day's events! I felt the same way about coming back to Sydney. Despite no air-conditioning and the occasional opossum roaming the corridor, Wesley really does seem like a home away from home. Definitely a nice feeling after running around two countries for 5 weeks!
