My alarm started going off at 5:30 this morning. Today was going to be a long day. We had to catch a 7:15 train from central station to Katoomba. This lovely 2.5 hour train ride would take us out of Sydney to the beautiful Blue Mountains. After an awesome nap on the train we arrived in Katoomba. When we got here we were all starving, so we ventured out to find some grub. It was our lucky day when one restaurant opened up right as we got there to serve us the manliest of all breakfast sandwiches.

From here we headed towards Echo Point to see the Three Sisters. These rock formations overlook the beautiful Jamison Valley and are also one of the most popular tourist sites in the Blue Mountains. When we arrived at Echo Point we were overwhelmed by the amount of tourists that flock to this one location. There is a massive staircase that goes all the way down the mountain called, “the giant stairway.” It took us about 30 minutes just to get down this massive mixture of rock and metal stairs that weaves around the sisters and other huge boulders. Once we got to the bottom we hiked all the way around the base of the mountain for about 4 hours and ended up at a high-speed inclined railway. Check out the website for it

Our journey for the day ended back in Katoomba where we finally got to sit down, rest, and get some good food. This open-faced sandwich of pesto, fresh vegetables, and cheese really hit the spot.
