Today was a very busy day.
We started out by going to the University of Auckland to meet with a
woman named Suzanne Wilkinson. She is
the head of the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Suzanne does
a lot of research in natural disaster relief so she is a great resource for me
to have later on when I am putting together my thesis. One of her PhD students gave us a tour of the
campus and we were able to learn more about the university and the types of
degrees that they have.
After the visiting the university we took a bus to One Tree
Hill. This is a public park that has a
large hill and coincidentally, no tree on the top. It was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful
here though. There were rolling hills
and large grassy areas covered with sheep feeding and stunning views of
Auckland. I’ll let the pictures speak
for themselves here.

At night we had the privilege of watching the sun set from
the Auckland Sky Tower. What a
view! You could see the entire city from
up there and getting to watch the sun set over Auckland was definitely a once
in a lifetime opportunity.
